Sharing the Joy....

Many people ask me if I like being a makeup/hair artist. Normally I answer back with a quick "yes", but truthfully that doesn't really cover the half of it. I don't "like" my job, I LOVE IT! Why?...well if you were in my shoes you would know exactly what I meant.
Even though I'm a makeup/hair artist, I wear a variety of other hats in my life as a mother, daughter, sister, wife, artist, teacher, beauty expert and a business woman. All of these elements add a lot of flavor to the mix, so I just thought to myself "you've logged a lot of hours on this interesting journey of yours, so you might as well share the ride". So I am! That will be the only way for you to understand what I love about my profession and why I love living in the moment....

CONTEST TIME!!!!

I come across this wonderful idea of a 'Give Away", I loved it so much I had to do this!

Due to my love of education also, I have decided to make the last months of 2011 a time I pay it forward.

As I am winding down the year 2011, Carrie Purser Makeup and Hair Artistry will be giving away one FREE 60-90 min, one-on-one hair and/or makeup education session during November and December. But there is a catch: I want you to get into the spirit of things and instead of trying to win yourself, I’m asking that you nominate someone you feel deserves the complimentary session.
And what is an education session, you may ask? Well, friends, it is where I sit down with two lucky winners and talk about how to make them their best self. It starts with a consultation and follows with instruction on how they can recreate certain looks on themselves. We might talk about product or choosing the right style for their face shape. It could consist of walking them through a blow dry or color options that make them feel new again. Or maybe make up is the big question, so we can start with skincare do’s and dont’s, followed by choosing the right product for your skin type, matching colors and picking the right colors to bring out your best features. Which brush does what and how do you use your brushes to get a certain type of look?
Each education session is a $170 value and can be totally customized to the winners’ desires.
To nominate someone to win a free education session, send an email to info@carriepurser.com Tell me who you think deserves to win and why. And who knows? Maybe you’ll get lucky, too, as I will choose one winner from nominators and blog commenters to win a full makeover, haircut, hair color, eyebrow shaping, and make up application. Contest ends 12/20/2011.

EASTERN TRADITIONS MEET MODERN ELEGANCE-FORMAL SESSION~ KARMON & JARED

Have I mentioned before I much I love doing cultural events, especially weddings! When Karmon had contacted me with interest in my services for her wedding day I could not be more excited. All I can say is her formal pictures are the most amazing pictures I have seen and I could not be more pleased with how her look turned out. Karmon's wedding was top-notch so of course I had to complete her hair and makeup to match the Maggie Sottero Wedding Gown and the Swarovski jewels, plus the custom Chinese dress and traditional Chinese jewelry to match. Stunning is all I can say as I favor these images over and over again. Photography by Swenson Photography http://www.swensonphotography.com/

WEDDING SESSION~ JENNA & KOLTON

Jenna was the city girl from Arizona who found her cowboy and did Kolton ever turn this city girl into a cowgirl! What a fun day their wedding was, they went all out and had the funniest western style wedding I have ever seen! The fun all started when I was doing Jenna's hair and makeup very early, but her soon-to-be mother in-law kept us all laughing and the spirits happy. The sign at the end of this picture session pretty much sums up Merrilee's personality, she is a hoot! It was an honor to be with Jenna on her special day and I know these two will have a very happy FUN life together. ENGAGEMENT SESSION~ JONI & JOSH

I've known Joni since she was four months old! When she came to me and said she was getting married it brought a tear to my eye but great excitement too because I knew that she would make one stunning beautiful bride! Needless to say when I saw the photos of her Engagement session taken by the best (Kellee Smith at Moments by Kellee Photography) I realized what a good looking couple Joni and Josh are and that made me even more excited!!! Her dad let her use his pride and joy (the car), although they had to earn it by going the night before their session and washing it up. When Joni told me this it made me smile because I know her father so well. I am so excited to share more of this couple's photo sessions with you as the journey of their marriage becomes all to real. More tears will come I can guarantee that, but I know she will be one stunning bride. Photos by www.momentsbykellee.com
